Tach vs. True Airframe Time

LogMyBird mathematically separates what you see on the panel from the legal time of the airframe.

• When logging a flight, always enter the exact number you see on the physical panel gauge.
• The system automatically calculates the offset in the background to track your True Total Airframe Time (TTAF).

Replacing a Tachometer

If your gauge breaks and you install a new one, your TTAF doesn't change, but your reading drops to zero (or a random baseline).

• Click the Edit (Gear) icon next to your aircraft's name.
• Enter your legal TTAF (from your paper logbooks) and the new reading on your replacement gauge.
• The app will instantly calculate a new offset so your maintenance math never misses a beat.

Logging Flights

Click Log Flight after you shut down. Enter the date, your ending tach, and any squawks or notes. The system will automatically calculate the flight duration based on your previous entry and update your radar.

The Offline Outbox

Metal hangars block cell signals. If you lose service, log your flight normally. The app will queue the data locally on your phone (look for the yellow warning banner). The moment your phone reconnects to Wi-Fi, it will silently sync to the cloud.

The Reminder Lifecycle

• Initial Setup: Click the + NEW button. Enter the task name and intervals. Because it has no history yet, it will appear at the top of your radar flagged as SETUP REQ.
• Baselining (The First Log): Click the new item, then click Log Task Completion. Enter the tach and date from when this task was last performed. This anchors the math.
• Routine Logging: When you complete the task in the future, click it and log it again. The app will advance the "Next Due" thresholds and drop a permanent record into your History ledger.

"On Condition" Tracking

Use the On Condition toggle when creating a reminder for components that lack a mandatory replacement interval, but where you still want to track the total Time In Service (TTIS).
